And then you get this nostalgic flashback of the pain they gave you, making you wonder once again “How could you?” You grip your heart, tighten your hold on your feelings and push your mind further into the border between love and hate. You are left confused, alone, and still curious. You may loathe what they’ve done; the hurt and trauma they’ve burdened you with - but admit it, you still want to know why they did what they did to you. Why you, when you never thought of doing anything as horrible or terrible to them?
